Multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting incident at the YouTube Headquarters, 901 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA have been confirmed by the San Bruno City Manager Connie Jackson, and the city Police Department.
Details are limited at this time, however YouTube Headquarters and the surrounding area are locked down at this time while officials are taking action.
Avoid the area of Cherry Avenue and Bay Hill Drive due to a possibly still Active Shooter situation.
Update (3 April 2018 – 4:55 pm Eastern Time)
As reported by CNN, a YouTube employee who was on a conference call with HQ stated there were shots fired and someone on the conference call at HQ stated a person was shot on a patio where employees take meal breaks.
Update (3 April 2018 – 5:15 pm Eastern Time)
It is currently reported 4-5 patients were being rushed away via ambulance from the scene. Swat and other specialized units are on the scene, and persons are being searched and moved out of the area one-by-one. The status of the shooter or shooters is still unknown at this time.
Update (3 April 2018 – 5:28 pm Eastern Time)
An anonymous law enforcement source has reported the shooter as possibly female, and are investigating the incident as a workplace violence event, and not currently an act of terrorism. Several YouTube employees took to Twitter as the event began unfolding, reporting the shooting to the social media platform. Todd Sherman, a YouTube Producer reported on Twitter seeing blood on the floor and stairs as he was trying to evacuate.
Update (3 April 2018 – 5:59 pm Eastern Time)
At least four were wounded and the suspected shooter, a woman, was found dead on the campus of the YouTube headquarters, San Bruno Police Chief Ed Barberini said; adding “the deceased woman had an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.”
